[About Technical intern training] I am concerned about learning Japanese and adjusting to life in Japan. Should I still apply?
Overseas sending organizations will educate the trainees in Japanese, Japanese customs, and basic knowledge of the occupations, etc before entering Japan. You will need to obtain the N4 level of Japanese proficiency.
After entering Japan, trainees will continue to take lessons in Japanese, caregiving introduction, classes necessary for legal protection, and general knowledge about life in Japan.
After being assigned, you will continue to study for N3 acquisition, and the supervising organization will support and prepare a consultation system.
[About Technical intern training] How long does it take for trainees to be assigned?
It takes about 2-4 weeks from application to selection (interview), about 6-8 months until entry (including 1 month of pre-education and training), 1 month education and training after entry, and then you will be assigned.
It depends on the ability and situation of the trainee, but it should take about 1 year from application to actual assignment.
How long is the technical intern training?
Technical intern training No. 1 is one year and No. 2 is two years, for a total of three years.
If a trainee meets the conditions such as passing the exam, No. 3 will be two years for a total of five years.
In addition, those who have completed Technical intern training No. 2 can transfer to a Specified skilled worker without an exam.
Does the association help with the immigration process and other related matters?
An application for entry or renewal of status of residence etc will be carried out by the association after the accepting company prepares the necessary documents.
[About studying abroad] What is the time frame and flow from entry to employment for international students?
It takes one and a half to two years at a Japanese language school and two years at a school specializing in caregiving and it takes about four years in total to acquire the certified care worker. During the period of studying abroad, international students may work part time at the facility to a maximum of 28 hours per week. This practical education is mutually beneficial.
If the national examination "Certified Care Worker" is completed, you will be able to obtain the status of residence for "Nursing care", and will be able to renew the residence status and invite family to stay in Japan. There is a transitional measure for graduates of training schools up to 2026 (March of Reiwa era 9) to have the certified care worker for 5 years after graduation. If they pass the national examination within 5 years or engage in long term care work for 5 years, they will be able to keep the certified care worker.
